As we settle into the months of September and October, there is no better way to welcome the fall than by planning a wonderful outing to a local orchard. Whether you choose to gather apples for a new recipe that will fill your home with the smell of autumn, or just want something fun to do with the family, our area offers a multitude of orchard options. Many have “pick-your-own” options while others have a variety of apples and other produce in their farm markets.
Check out our list here. Remember to call ahead or visit websites before venturing out. Different apple varieties are harvested at different times from late August to early November. And many of these orchards offer hayrides and other fun events. If we have forgotten your favorite area orchard, let us know so we can add it to our list. Enjoy!
