The Season of Giving

November is a great month to give to those in our community who are in need.  The Washington Metropolitan area has a number of charitable organizations that would welcome your help.  Monetary donations are always welcome or you can assist with fundraising events as well.  Be sure to check out the websites below to see how COVID 19 may impact volunteer opportunities. These are just a few organizations you may wish to contact:

So Others Might Eat (SOME) ~ November 25th 5K Trot for Hunger, Little Turkey 1-Miler, and Festival Freedom Plaza, Washington, DC   There will be an in-person race and festival as well as a virtual race this year.

Food and Friends ~ Thanksgiving Slice of Life Pie Sales in Washington, DC

Buy a Thanksgiving pie beginning October 1st and provide meals for a neighbor in need.

Capital Area Food Bank ~ Serving DC, MD, and VA 

Jewish Social Services ~ Serving DC, MD, and VA 

Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership (SHIP) ~ Homeless for the Holidays 

Supporting Homeless Youth in Frederick County
